Student involvement
The student body at Queen’s is complex and dispersed. Our common life is a matter of fundamental importance, because it is a key element of our learning and formation, but understanding, building and maintaining this common life together is complex when people engage with Queen’s for different reasons and in different ways.
The community(ies) that gather each week are different from but connected with the communities that gather at weekends. The communities that study at Queen’s are different from, but connected with, those who study online or in digital learning mode. Likewise, the communities of independent students are different from, but connected with, those who are sponsored for ordained and authorised ministries.
Student involvement manifests in a number of ways, but broadly splits into two types:
- Formal involvement: representation on, and contribution to, various bodies within Queen's
- Informal involvement: contributing to the wider community and social life on and off campus.
