Revd Dr Clifton Clarke

I was born and raised in Nottingham UK. I obtained my PhD in Theology from the University of Birmingham UK. I have taught theology at the Graduate and undergraduate levels at universities in the UK, Ghana, and the USA. After working as the Associate Provost for Fuller Theological Seminary from 2017 – 2020 I accepted the position as Bishop of San Fernando Valley CA as well as Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Church in Simi Valley California.

Teaching	I teach courses in Theology, African and Black Theology, Africa Church History, and Mission Studies
Church experience and background	I am an ordained bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland TN) and I have worked in the pastoral ministry for over twenty years.
Roles and responsibilities in the wider church / academia	I serve as the bishop of San Fernando Valley, CA, and an Ecumenical Officer for my denomination. I am the founder of the Alliance for Black Pentecostal Studies

Research interests and supervision

Research interests	My research interest are Black and African Studies, Systematic Theology and Contextual theologies.
Supervision areas and level	I supervise PhD in the areas of African and Black Studies.
