Admissions process - Independent
Independent students
Open days run from early in the new calendar year at evenings and weekends. Please click here to book onto one of these to find out basic information about the college and possible programme and study pathway options. The application process will be discussed at the open day.
If candidates wish to proceed to an application, then they will be asked to complete an application form, gather together references and evidence of previous study, and book into a meeting with the CDT team/ Director of Post Graduate Study. This meeting will act as a two way interview, allowing questions and clarifications from the candidate and the college.
Following this, as applicable, a conditional or firm offer will be sent to the candidate. More complex applications may be referred at this stage or after more information has been supplied by the candidate to the college’s admissions panel. The panel will let the student know the outcome of this review and details of any resulting offer or condition. Forms will be sent with confirmed offers requesting confirmation of acceptance of the offer, payment methods etc. After accepting a place at this stage all candidates are offered a 14 day cooling off period to withdraw from this contract.
All confirmed candidates will be invited to an appropriate induction at which further registration details will be requested to comply with university and HESA data collection requirements. None of the details requested at this stage will affect the outcome of any offer previously made.
Readers
The Queen’s Foundation, working in partnership both with the Diocese of Lichfield and the Diocese of Worcester, offers academic study as part of Reader Training prior to Licencing. If you are a potential Reader in either of these Dioceses then this will be arranged with you via the Diocese. Current students by agreement with the diocese usually complete a Certificate of Higher Education in Theology, Ministry and Mission validated by Durham University as part of the Common Awards.
All confirmed candidates will be invited to an appropriate induction at which further registration details will be requested to comply with university and HESA data collection requirements. None of the details requested at this stage will affect the outcome of any offer previously made.
