Admissions process - CMD
Methodist Probationers
The Queen’s Foundation in partnership with the Methodist Church in Britain offers academic training as part of the Probation period for probationer presbyters and deacons. If you are a probationer in the Methodist Church in Britain then this will have been arranged with you towards the end of your initial ministerial training via the Probationer learning and development needs form and permission given by MCPOC for accredited courses. Current students by agreement with MCPOC have been able to progress to a full BA upon successful completion of the Diploma in HE undertaken in initial ministerial training and study at postgraduate level. It is also possible to complete a number of modules not registered for university credit to fulfil the requirements of probationer studies and continue professional development.
Anglican Curates
The Queen’s Foundation working in partnership with the Diocese of Lichfield offers academic training as part of Curacy for newly ordained Anglican ministers. If you are a curate in the Diocese of Lichfield then this will be arranged with you via the Diocese. Current students by agreement with the diocese have been able to progress to a full BA upon successful completion of the Diploma in HE undertaken in pre ordination training; study at postgraduate level; or complete a number of modules not registered for university credit to supplement their professional development.
Curates in other dioceses may wish to consider academic study as part of their continuing professional development. Please contact the Anglican Admissions Tutor if you think that we can help with this.
All confirmed candidates will be invited to an appropriate induction at which further registration details will be requested to comply with university and HESA data collection requirements. None of the details requested at this stage will affect the outcome of any offer previously made.
Other students
The Admissions process for all other students interested in the Centre for Continuing Ministerial Development follows the process for Independent students, described here.
